Thank you for booking one of our cabins. Your cabin is known as Tracee’s cabin, or C-2.

To get there from the Denver area you would take I-70 West to US Hwy 40 West. At Granby, Colo. you turn right onto US Hwy 34 East to Grand Lake (GL). You’ll see a sign after that turn indicating 16 miles to GL.

After about 12-13 miles you’ll cross a marked bridge over the No. Fork of the Colo. River. Take your first private drive to the right, after crossing that bridge. It’ll say Lorens Ranch.

If you pass GL Plumbing Company, you just missed your turn.

Yours is the 2d cabin on the right. The lock box is on the post by the front door and the code is 1238.

If you get lost, or need anything at all, like to checkout a free canoe or to get more free firewood, just call my on-site manager. Her name is Caitie and her number is 970-531-7057.

If you need to reach me please email me, as I travel a lot, at:

My phone number — but it is for messages, and sends me an email when you leave a message — is 619-239-1233.

Thank you, and have a great time at our property.

Perfect getaway

We had an amazing stay at this property - so good that we extended an extra night after we arrived! The location on the north fork of the Colorado river (a small-medium stream at this point) at its mouth into shadow Mountain Lake was breathtaking. We saw moose, elk, deer, a bald eagle, and countless osprey & hawks while there. WOW! Tons of fun for our 3 and 5 year olds (and us parents) to fly/spin fish in the river, but the highlight was taking the provided canoes out into the lake and exploring the nearby islands. We had great weather, so even jumped in the lake at an island beach for a (very) quick swim. The location was also great for exploring the region. We rented a pontoon on grand lake for a day, and RMNP is super accessible (we frequent the area so did not go in the park on this stay). Our dog enjoyed off leash interactions with the owners’ and caretakers’ pups too. Tracee and Catie were exceptional And accommodating hosts. We hope to return soon and rent multiple cabins with extended fam.

Thank you so very much. I want all my guests to know that I am fighting really hard to Save the No. Fork and the Colorado River. In Grand County our County Commissioners have been offered $12 Million to divert all our water to Denver. We, as citizens up here have to pay our County Counsel's salary while we see him write brief for Denver Water and Northern Water and Gross Dam. I spend 30% of my time and ten of thousands of dollars/year fighting these diversions. The No. Fork and our rivers and lakes need to be saved. Here at The Lorens Ranch, we are fighting hard to save them. Starting Oct 1st we will be donating $25 from each booking to It stands for The Upper Colo. River Watershed Group. Join us in Saving our rivers and lakes. Tracee

Tranquility during COVID-19

Such a wonderful escape from reality. Our communication with Tracee in preparation for our trip was wonderful. She was very prompt with her responses and helpful with directions for finding the cabin. We were thrilled with the location of the cabin. It is right next to a lovely river that sang such a peaceful tune. I loved the swing situated right next to the river. We also made good use of the outdoor table for most of our meals - except of course when we got the surprise snow in mid-June. Classic Colorado weather!!! We took advantage of their variety of board games and the fire (bring supplies for s'mores!) on the snow day. It was fabulous. We also enjoyed a day of perfect sunshine. On that day, we went out on the lake with the canoes that are available for their guests to use. Caitie was very helpful in getting them ready for our adventure on the lake. We had to do a little portage to get them back, since the final part of the trip is a mini paddle up the river, but it was all part of the adventure. As for the condo itself: the beds were super cozy, the kitchen plentiful, porch swing provided an incredible mountain view, as did the large windows - gorgeous scenery everywhere! There was lots of space to spread out and truly unwind during this surreal time of 2020. We are very grateful to have had this opportunity to find tranquility during COVID-19. Thank you Tracee!

Awesome Stream and Lake Cabin!

We LOVED the place, with all the fire pits and a communal fire pit in the middle of large open spaces! Quaintly appointed cabin, very inviting. Excellent and quick owner to guest responses! THANK YOU!

Campfires, wildlife, relaxation. Great weekend getaway!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We saw tons of wildlife on the property, elk grazing outside our cabin, deer, Osprey. The owner and onsite caretaker were very attentive. We would definitely come back!

Grand Lake

Nice to be in a place on the river! The construction of the bridge was extremely annoying since we wanted peace and quite.

Quiet, comfortable cabin in a great setting

Quiet, clean cabin with fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room, 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, and 2 long porches. Outside is fire ring, charcoal grill, several tables, wood supply. Colorado River runs by the back yard, and you are a short walk from boats, kayaks for paddling on Shadow Mountain Lake. Easy drive to many hiking trails and RMNP. We saw moose while paddling on the lake and many osprey. Had a great time!

Please come back anytime--and thanks for the kind review. Tracee/owner
