You’ll see spectacular views and lots of wildlife — nearly daily — including moose, elk, deer, osprey, right out your door in the meadow or crossing the river. This old cabin is rustic on the outside and is NEWLY renovated on the inside. We sit on a 6 acre meadow just off Hwy 34 — bordered by the North Fork of the Colorado river — 2 miles outside downtown G.L. The river runs so close to your cabin we have to have a small berm by the back deck to keep from flooding in the June run-off season!
Shadow Mountain lake connects with Grand lake (the largest alpine lake in the State) by a small channel. Rocky Mountain National park is just 3 miles or so away. Great for fishing, kayaking, bird or wildlife viewing, hiking, boating, etc.
Natural stone fireplace w/ wood included. We also have 3 canoes, a kayak, that we include for our guests. All firewood for your natural rock — floor-to-ceiling fireplace, and the fire pit is also included in your rate.
LONGER TERM RENTALS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE AND THROUGH THE SUMMER DUE TO COVID 2019. Using all CDC methods and products for thorough and in depth cleaning — actually going far above their guidelines.
