Wonderful people!

The best thing about this property was the people: friendly, helpful neighbours and wonderful caretakers! Lupita made everything shine, and would have changed the beds every day if we had let her; Oscar met us at the bus, took us grocery shopping, showed us the best taco stands, tortilleria, and dulcerias(sweet shops), and connected us to a fishing boat captain. He showed up with a smile every morning to check on us, and responded quickly to any messages. They both took Very Good care of us. The beds were soft and comfy with fluffy new pillows and quality sheets. The chairs facing the beach were comfortable and shade was available from an umbrella and a tree. We spent a lot of time there. The kitchen was very well equipped, and we were provided with salt and pepper, spices, coffee, sugar, quality olive oil, balsamic vinegar... over and above expectations. The birdlife was fabulous: varied, many species, and fun to watch. High winds limited the fishing opportunities, but every morning, the bass within the cove were abundant and catchable. The kayaks were kept in good shape, out of the sun, and the paddles were good. It must be very frustrating to the owner when guests drag the see through plexiglass bottoms over the beach. Please carry the kayaks, people! We had a very good time! Many thanks to Oscar, Lupita, and Tracee!

Thank you so very much for coming. We loved having you and fishing and clamming and kayaking, etc. Tracee(owner) and Oscar(butler/majordomo) and Lupita(housekeeper/cook)

Right on the water

Great view right on the water. All amenities would rent again. Try the restaurant in the campgrounds. In town go to Tonka's for steak. Fishing was great, what was there not to like.

Thanks Marshall. Tracee

A Gem of a Place

After driving a 14 1/2 hour day, all we wanted was a bed!! Unfortunately there was a slight mixup of what day we were arriving but the property manager arrived and him and his sister cleaned frantically to get the place ready for us - they finished it the next morning while we went in for breakfast and groceries and the place was homey and ready for us when we came back!! Oscar even had chips and sauce waiting for us along with some beer and tequila - we were totally impressed with him! If you want a fancy place with all the comforts of home, this is not the place for you! But we thoroughly enjoyed staying there and know the owner has a little slice of heaven in this place! It's not for everyone but it was perfect for us! And the sunrises are out of this world!!

Thank you very much. We love our little beach trailer with palapa. But, yeah, it's pretty "Off the grid". We will tell Oscar you adored him and his sister Lupita. We really appreciate you taking the time to write us a review. Take care and thanks again, Tracee/owner

People there were helpful and friendly

The Sheltered portion attached to the trailer was beautiful and well kept. The trailer had no heat no hot water no ac and the toilet leaked and wasn’t attached to the floor. However the young caretaker Oscar did fix the toilet as soon as I brought it to his attention but the odour permeated throughout the building for days after. The caretakers were very attentive and made our stay as enjoyable as possible given the rundown condition of the trailer itself. The area is breathtakingly beautiful and the neighbors were awesome stewards of authentic Mexico. The fishing, Rigo’s in nearby SAN Bruno was amazing. My arms still ache from reeling in so many huge Yellow tail and Red snappers.

Thank you for your review. I am so sorry that you expected heat and A/C. We are a beach community that only got water a few years ago. We have electricity only because we have solar panels feeding batteries. Baja--except for Cabo, La Paz, and Loreto is very rural and quiet--and well, a bit backwards. We do, ofcourse, have hot water showers for our entire camp and they are happily shared and kept clean by all of us. I assume you found them, and were just disappointed you couldn't shower right in the trailer. To us, that is the charm of our little community. It's so serene and "off the grid". I'm so glad , at least, you found Rigo's fishing to be great and that Oscar fixed the toilet the day it broke. I apologize that you seemed to think we were more like a hotel. I figured when you saw the $50/night rate and where we are, you'd just know. I'll make the site clearer next. I'm moving over there now to add those things. I guess I should have known you wouldn't be too familiar with Baja when you sent me a check from Canada--which took 6 weeks to cash and get funds on. Our apologies. At least you concede the pictures are accurate and that you just expected more amenities from our little campground on the beach. You are right that the area is breathtakingly beautiful. And we truly thank you for your review. Tracee/owner

Visit to Tracer's fish camp, May 12-15

Had a great time at Tracee's fish camp May 12-15, 2016. Can't beat the location right on the water. fun and friendly neighbors on either side with lots of local knowledge of the area and the fishing. Tracee's local caretakers,, Francisco and Marta, take good care of the property and the guests. And Francisco is a terrific boat/fishing skipper. We flew down from San Diego in a C-210, and Francisco gave us rides both ways to San Lucas Cove. Not having wheels, it was great to have access to The quads for going to the market, etc. in town a few minutes away. We would visit here again. Bob

Thanks Bob. Just yesterday, my neighbor on the right side, caught 2 Marlin. One had to have been over 200 pounds. We are so glad you had fun. Come back any time. Tracee

Relaxation paradise

Thanks Tracee for letting us stay at your beach paradise. We loved feeling like we were sleeping outside while being very comfortable on that nice bed looking out the window and seeing all the stars. Waking up to the sound of the birds and watching them all feeding was really entertaining. The neighbors were so welcoming and fun. You truly have a slice of paradise there. The views were beautiful and we got some nice paddle boarding and kayaking in. We were treated to fresh caught Yellowtail (lunchtime sashimi!!) a few days too so it sounded like the fishing was very good.

Thank you so very much. Please come back anytime. Tracee

Tracer's Fish Camp

This little piece of heaven, a short ride from the charming old town of Santa Rosalia and directly on the Sea of Cortez, is the place your fisherman dad would have had if he had indeed been a 'fisherman dad'. In a trailer park steps from the Sea of Cortez this reworked/refined trailer is great for watching life on the water, birds in the trees. The little shell covered beach is steps from a pair of pink sunset viewing chairs. In fact everything is brightly colored in this rather modern trailer attached to a large, airy tropical style room. This is "glamping" (glamorous camping) at it's best, everything clean and well maintained. The care takers are there to help you with anything you might need, the neighbors are gracious and generous. The kitchen is completely outfitted for real cooking. Great place, communicative, informative host. Real lives lived here, no ikea for miles.

Thank you very much. We are so glad you enjoyed yourselves. Tracee
